Intelligent Chicks

So far, I have found chickens to be great pets. These lively little birds are far more intelligent than I had thought and this makes me think about all those poor caged chickens bunched up in horrible conditions.
One of their favorite things do to it to run around the backyard eating up all the weeds that grow in and around the garden...so for those who don't like plucking weeds from your gardens and don't like to use chemicals to rid your garden of them; may I propose this eco-friendly solution.
They seem to have a good memory too, for bad reasons, Blondie is still scared every time I go near her as she remembers all to well the medicine I feed her while she was sick. While Daisy and Chocki is more than happy to eat of my hands while perched on my arms. These two have learnt that they will get treats if they jump up on my arms. Daisy was a little enthusiastic the other day and actually landing on my head, quite funny. The girls also seem to know when I am going out to the backyard, associating this with food. Upon the slamming of the back door, they quickly scramble their way towards me. It's quite endearing.....
